Bayern Versus Madrid: Prediction For Leg Two

Tyler Stearns |

Leg two of this semifinal matchup will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu, the home of the mighty Real Madrid. Madrid has dominated at their ground this season and they recently were awarded the 2023-2024 La Liga title after Barcelona lost to Girona.

Bayern have not seen similar success this season. They have lost the league to Bayer Leverkusen, a side who dominated every single competition they have competed in. Bayern has seemed stagnant at times and their style of play seems outdated.

All of this can be thrown out of the window. No matter how bad or good either team has performed in their leagues or domestic cups, both giants always perform in Europe. They combine for 20 Champions Leagues and each club seemingly always reaches at least the semifinal. Madrid is more successful as they have won the prestigious tournament a record fourteen times. Bayern's six are impressive as well, but do not compare to Madrid's cabinet.

If history is any indication of how this game will turn out, Madrid should handle business. They have been successful against the German club in the past century. However, never count out Bayern.

Though Madrid may have the home-field advantage, Bayern can likely go through. If they can control the Madrid attackers (specifically Vini Jr., Bellingham, and Rodrygo), then they will have a great shot to win. Kim Min Jae learned his lesson in leg one and if he gets his shot, he won't mess up again. So The Take predicts that Bayern will go through via penalties.
